Debate and Discussion That Drive Comprehension (3-8) *IN PERSON* facilitated by Mike Ochs – 8:30-2:30pm

Structured talk can deepen understanding when it is clear, purposeful, and grounded in text. This workshop focuses on building debate and discussion routines that support reading comprehension. Teachers learn how to guide students in using evidence, responding to ideas, and clarifying thinking through structured exchanges that lead to stronger understanding and more precise responses in speaking and writing. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
