Phonics Power and Orthographic Mapping: Teaching Principles of Phonics and Word Study in Ways That Stick Gr K-3 *IN PERSON* facilitated by The Living Literacy Network – 8:30-2:30pm

December 3 @ 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

In this session, teachers will learn the importance of explicit and systematic phonics instruction in ways that lead to orthographic mapping – the process of forming letter-sound connections in order to commit spellings, pronunciations, and meanings of words to memory. Beyond phonics instruction, teachers will also unlock the power of teaching the six syllable types along with common syllable divisions that lead to automaticity for fluid and flexible word solving. Eligible for 6 hours CTLE credit. If district pays, district approval must be confirmed prior to start of session.
